say NO TO RACISM.

I am Joanna May C. DIAZ - as you read my surname I know, everybody knows that it is not a Filipino one, but  Spanish. I know it. clearly. My ancestors were spanish, and that would made up my blood have this "foreign magellan blood". But I so love the Philippines, and I know you too.

I lived in this country for about 20 years and counting, and never left. I gained a lot of friends in my 20 years and I even have a friend in school that is Foreign born with american father and filipino mother. Her skin was so fair, even mosquitoes will think twice to bite her soft white skin. She isn't fluent in tagalog but she was trying to talk, to read and communicate with our native language. And I know that's the filipina inside her.

Then I came to love sports and music eventhough I am not an athlete or a musician. I came to love the athletes making names in other countries that were half filipino. Basketball Players, Volleyball Players, Football Players and the likes. I support them because they don't fight for THEIR OWN NAME but they were fighting for the name that is printed in their front, PILIPINAS.

Aren't we that thankful to these people who has foreign blood? they choose to play for the country and for its pride. They do not play for those names at their back. And if they are handsome and pretty, that is a plus factor and it's not their fault.

One reason why Philippines cannot grow as a nation because of crabmentality. Instead of helping each other we tend to look at their differences and pulling these guys down.

I have so many words to say but I just want to make my stand clear. look first at yourself and understand where you came from. Maybe you, yourself is not a 100% pure blooded filipino.
