Getting around La Union is fairly easy. One can take a jeepney or mini bus with fixed routes to reach further destinations. Tricycles are commonly used in reaching remote areas. Below are some mode of transportation used to reach popular areas.

From San Fernando City:

to CSI Mall
- You may take a jeepney or tricycle.
1.) Jeepney - you may ride at the old market. Fare is Php 8.00
2.) Tricycle - you can call empty tryc's as you call empty taxi's. :) Usually they only allow maximum of 3 passengers.
3.) Private car - you may take two roads. Either diversion or the main highway.

to Thunderbird Resort/Casino - You may take a jeepney or tricycle.
1.) Jeepney - Terminal is located near Nisce clinic and Chowking. Jeepney's wait for passengers until they fill it up then they leave. End destination would be near the Casino.
2. ) Tricycle - Tricycles can get you near the Casino also. They are not allowed to take the road that goes straight to the Casino. They will drop you off the same spot where the jeepney's drop there passengers also.
3. ) Private car - straight going to Manila. Turn right on the tomb of the unknown soldier monument. The road will then lead you straight to resort or casino. Remember to stop at the PPMA gate as friendly guards will ask you your destination.
to San Juan La Union beach area - You can take a mini bus, jeep or a tricycle.
1. ) Jeepney -  take a jeep that have a destination of Bacnotan, San Juan, Balaoan and Luna. These will take you to San Juan Beach area. The most popular land mark to tell the driver where are you going to alight is Sebay. Remember to say "Sebay Manong" or "Para" if he forgets. ;) Fare is around P8.00.
2. ) Mini Bus - mini buses plying north are located at the Plaza waiting shed in front of Jollibee one. All there mini buses will pass through San Juan Beach Area. Land mark to tell where are you going to go is Sebay. Fare is around P10.00.
3. ) Tricycle - any tricycle can take you to San Juan area. Usually costs more than jeepney and mini bus.
4. ) Private car - just straight north. Take the main highway. There would be signs at the road side if you are already in San Juan beach area.
to any other place near the business area - take a tricycle. Fare would depend on how far the place is.
to other La Union town - take a mini bus. If you are going to north (Bacnotan, Balaoan, Luna, Bangar, Santol, Sudipen) board mini buses that are located at the Plaza in front of Jollibee one.
